About Cookie's Chronicles

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by Cookie's Chronicles!

I created Cookie's Chronicles when I was pregnant to chronicle the pregnancy and post-pregnancy events of life with our son, which have been as funny, challenging, and beautiful as I anticipated they would be.

My son and I recently received diagnoses of Celiac Disease and Lyme Disease. What started out as a blog about parenting has expanded to include these new challenges, and now provides helpful recipes for those on restricted diets and articles about Celiac Disease and Lyme Disease.

Who is Cookie?

'Cookie' is my son Jack, or was before I knew he was a 'he'. He acquired the name when I was pregnant. 'Cookie' just came to me the way 'bean' or 'peanut' formed on the lips of other expectant moms.

About Cookie's Mom:

I'm a writer, who lives in Canada and I write using the Queen's English. You'll see lots of extra Us here. Don't worry, you'll get used to it. I write about health and wellness, the joys and struggles of parenting and home life, recipes (including hypoallergenic cooking) and knitting, Lyme Disease, and books (on my other blog, Cookie's Book Club). I try to add a dose of humour to what I write, because, after all, laughter is the best medicine!

Still want more?

Bruna at Bees With Honey interviewed me for her Let's Bee Friends Friday feature. Stop by to see how I responded to questions like "How did you meet your hubby?" and "How do you see the world? Glass half empty or half full?"

I shared 7 things about me in a Stylish Blogger Award acceptance post and then shared 7 more in a Versatile Blogger Award acceptance post. But wait! There's more. Next, I shared answers to 7 questions about me after receiving the Blog On Fire Award.

The following quote inspires me every day to be a better parent.

If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
