Ten Things Animal

I'm happy to be joining Stasha of NorthWest Mommy again this week for Monday Listicles. This week's challenge is to list 'ten things animal'. Perhaps Stasha meant we should list ten things about animals in general, but I think it's more likely she wants to know ten things about Animal, the Muppets character.

Here it is then. My list of 10 things Animal:

1. He's seriously loveable. He's intense, man. Maybe that's why he's so loveable.

3. He mostly speaks in grunts and short phrases. "BEAT DRUMS!" / "EAT DRUMS!"

4. He's been a drummer for 4... no 5 years.

5. He loves his drums.

6. But sometimes he thinks drums are food. Cymbals too.

7. He has no patience for bad puns.

8. And he has a bit of a violent streak.

9. In fact, he's a wild thing.

10. And he likes bunny rabbits. Small ones.

    LOL I am so glad you wrote this tribute to him! He often gets lost in the shadows of all the other muppets, but he is so powerful and fascinating from his intensity! I love this post :) I'm going to share the videos with my daughters in the morning when they wake up. They're just starting to get into the muppets!

    Ado, I'm a big Muppets fan too. Warm memories of watching the show with my family - mom and dad snorfing at the two old geezers' jokes.

    Two old geezers were my favourite. Jerry Statler and Conrad Waldorf I will have you know! But animal is a close second. I love Muppet show, this list is awesome and so are you. Very cymballic post ;)

    What's scary is that reading this list there seeme to be an eerie amount of similarities between Animal & my 3 yr old daughter.

    @Barbara, it was a nice little trip back to childhood for me too! My family (all 7 of us) used to watch this show together.

    @Jackie - LOL!!! Maybe *my* 3-year-old's behaviour is what brought Animal to mind!

    Katherine, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. My parents have both passed as well. I have fond memories of watching the Muppets with them... and the laughter!

    @Jen, such a great show, wasn't it? Really miss it. We loved the Muppets 3D show at MGM a few years back. Still funny after all these years!

    @Christina, I was thinking the same thing. Why have I not watched this show in such a long time. So great to have a kid now that I can share it with!

    I absolutely <3 Animal! He was my favorite when I was a kid too! I have a great Tshirt with him on it that says "I'm The Loud Friend." He is great! Thanks for writing this!
