He's an olive fan like his mama! :)

Thanks to my fabulous friend, M, who gave me an inspiring BBQ pizza cookbook.

  4. Pizza is one of my favorites! Especially if grandkids are around! I love to let them top their own any way they want it. My SIL bought me a pizza stone this summer. She gave me lots of tips and a good pizza dough recipe. Now if someone could point me in the right direction for a good pizza peel I would be set! Nachos are another favorite.

  6. Kiddothings - lol. I think people either love olives or detest them. There seems to be no in between.

  7. Barbara, he loves to help cook and I'm not about to turn the offer down. I'm hoping that it's not just a phase! :)

  8. Thanks Amanda. It was pretty tasty, though with the salty olives, salty sauce and salty cheese a little bit overwhelmingly salty (will have to cut back on salt in the sauce next time)!

  9. Ha ha, Jen. We have leftovers - I'll save them for you!

  10. Linda I love 'make your own pizza night'. We used to do that as kids - sometimes using English Muffins as our 'crust'.

    What's a pizza peel?

  11. Hey Judester. You can't beat pizza - it hits all the major food groups and can be prepared any way you like it!

  12. NIce! Mine likes capers! Very refined taste, our boys...

  13. Indeed they have, Stasha. Capers! Wow!

  14. Mmmmmmmmm! This makes me think I should get to cooking tonight. I wonder what Li'l D could help with?

  15. Sue, the pizza peel is that great big spatula thing that you use to put your pizza on the pizza stone with and then to remove the pizza when it is done. I had always used parchment paper on a cookie sheet or pizza pan.

But NOOOO, I am told I need a pizza peel. I like the way the wooden ones look, but I think the metal ones may be more practical. I am pretty sure if I bought the metal one my SIL and brother would be thoroughly disgusted with me for not getting a wooden one though.

I live in a small enough town in Oklahoma (way away from Italy) that I can’t find one here in town, and I would like to see it before I buy one. I don’t really know why it even matters to me so much. LOL I will probably just catch the thing on fire anyway. But then I would get the chance to use that pretty red fire extinguisher, right?

  17. Linda, that's pretty funny - wanting a chance to use the fire extinguisher! Apparently, they sell pizza peels on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?field-keywords=pizza+peel&url=search-alias%3Daps&x=0&y=0

  18. I love olives too, especially on my pizza. DH hates them!

  19. Sue, I know I've looked and even have one in my cart. I want to touch it! I need to feel it, I know it sounds crazy. I just can't seem to click on the buy now button! O.o What's up with that?

  20. Rach, it's fun just to bring up the subject of olives at a party. Half of the people you talk to cringe as if you've just sworn at them, and the other half start to salivate! :)

  21. Just treat yourself, woman! You're so generous to others. Have at er!

  22. YUM! Looks like he had tons of fun making that.

  23. Natalie, he loves to help in the kitchen. And it only takes about a 3rd longer to prepare things with his help. :>
