Wordy Wednesday: A Gift for 'B'

Glass bead necklace and earrings.

For my sister, B.

We picked out some beads on my last trip to visit her
so I could make her something to go with this fabric:

What do you think?

It's so pretty I had a hard time letting it go.

  3. Jen, for me it's a toss up between green and blue. I'm going to make myself a green one, very much like sis's blue one! :)

  7. Stunning. That is real love, handing something so pretty over as a gift :)

  8. G, I have made many of my own pieces, but typically end up giving it all away. Thought about selling some of it at one point, but then decided to have a baby instead. Hard to bead around small fingers. Jack's at the age now where I can take it up again, and he even beads along with me!

  9. Thanks Alison! :)

Stasha, it was definitely a labour of love, making that necklace and then letting it go. Totally worth it.

  12. yep, definitely would have be tempted to keep it for myself!
that's under the big assumption that I could even make something so pretty (that didn't grow in the dirt and basically do most the work.)

  15. WTFH, my sis has made me many pretties over the years. She is WAY talented. It was high time I returned the favour! :)

Rory-lol. Yes, this did require quite a bit of work, but it was totally worth it. Not hard once you know how!

Marisa, thanks! There are so many colours in this necklace that just don't come through in a photo. I miss it already.

  20. Hey Sue! I am so very glad you were able to let it go! I am the lucky reipient and I agree with everyone...very beautiful - the photo does not completely capture how lovely, goes perfectly with the dress, my baby sister is very talented, and very kind to part with it!
    Love it!
Hey, I think I recognise that background in the photo...

  22. I love the striking blue. I think it goes well with a little black dress too, or a deep red one. What nifty hands you have! :P

  23. MWPS, I never even considered this necklace with a red dress. That would be stunning!
